In the middle of the (sun?) you have the red object with an outline.

I personally feel that outlines give a too uniform look, and I always manually create an outline. (like a white object underneath the red one) And then have it touch in places and so on. View my logo's for a hint of what I mean.

I think that would improve this a lot, but it is very good as it is!

Also, your type is either too small, or needs to be more bold. At a first glance I don't see the type at all.

i think this is better than the other, the first one is more generic, this is something you'll relate only to "genesis". the only critic would be that maybe there are to many "flames" under the "sun". maybe a little simpler.
